'Tis the Season.
Mr. Wendell Scales, Deputy Director of Innovation is doing one of the many things he does best… representing Arkansas Lighthouse! He’s at the YASS Prize Awards ceremony in New York, NY preparing to bring home the BIG prize. He spoke to the audience about Apprenticeships and Skills-Based Models in Education, specifically highlighting Agri-STEM, a focus at ARLCS. Wish him luck!
What a difference a year makes!
BIG things are brewing at Arkansas Lighthouse and we can’t wait to share!
We were honored to participate in the 2nd Annual YASS Prize Accelerator and Pitch contest this week in Miami, FL.
The relationships, collaborations, and partnerships formed among individuals and organizations with Sustainable, Transformational, Outstanding, Permissionless initiatives within the education space is game changing. Arkansas Lighthouse is happy to be apart of this movement and conversation.
Stay tuned and watch what happens.
Keep SHINING!
It’s #Giving Tuesday!

At Arkansas Lighthouse Charter Schools
we understand the impact of mentorship and hosted our inaugural Junior MANRRS Leadership Institute at The Vines Center (Arkansas 4-H Center), sponsored by Pulaski County Youth Services.
As the state's first and only chapter, we haven't wasted time keeping our commitment to developing the next generation of agriculture and STEM professionals.
This year's institute focused on soft skill development. Over 70 7th and 8th graders participated in the Arkansas 4-H ExCEL Program led by Taylor Knox, Affiliated with U of A Division of Agriculture Research and Extension.
Key findings:
Nearly $1000 was awarded to scholars who were recognized for their leadership and engagement during our institute.
1) Team building is an essential part of success.
2) We are always working through uncontrollable conditions (weather) but must remain steadfast and keep working as a team.
3) Mentorships can transform your life. The connections = relationships
4) It becomes an issue of national security if Arkansas talent, especially if tech talent, isn't developed. Our state economy and job creation depend on opportunities not being outsourced.
We are cultivating sustainable pathways.
To all who served, we are thankful for your service.
Happy Veterans Day
Join ARLCS staff and be heard this election. Polls are still open until 7:30 pm. You can check out this link to find your poll location.
