Last week, our scholars visited Arkansas State University College of Agriculture during a beyond-the-walls experience. Thanks to Dr. Nina Crutchfield and her excellent scholars, who facilitated an amazing day.
Our scholars got the chance to broaden their horizons by learning about various aspects of the agriculture industry. They were exposed to various activities such as exploring the poultry industry, observing candle egg production, understanding the use of drones in agriculture, watching a drone flying demonstration, visiting a cow-calf operation, witnessing a CNC machine demonstration, and creating wooden robot keychains.
Special thanks to our Agriculture Business Educator, Ms. Mahan for coordinating this field experience.

Jacksonville Lighthouse Elementary Scholastic Shoutout
ARCLS Parents and Scholars:
Because we were out last week due to the winter weather, we have rescheduled all 1st semester exams that were scheduled for last week to take place this week. Scholars who are exempt from taking exams (have an A or B in their class AND at least 90% attendance rate) have been notified by their teachers. Parents, let's work together to encourage our scholars do keep studying material, take their time during their exams, and do their very best! Let's P.L.A.Y.!!!!
ARLCS Parents: Due to the threat of freezing rain, all campuses will observe a 2-hour delayed start today. Classes will begin at 10 a.m.
Good Morning ARLCS Parents:
Due to the threat of freeing rain, all campuses will observe a 2-hour delayed start today. Classes will begin at 10:00am. All buses transporting scholars to the Middle School campus will depart from the High School campus promptly at 9:30am.
ARLCS Families, we are monitoring the weather forecast for tomorrow (Monday, Jan. 22) as our region is facing the potential threat of accumulating freezing rain during the morning hours. We are planning to open our campuses for regular school tomorrow; however, we will assess travel conditions early in the morning and make a final determination on whether a delay or cancellation is necessary. We plan to communicate our status by 6 a.m. tomorrow via email and text. Furthermore, there will be no late start on Monday, January 22nd. All classes will commence at 8 am, and the school day will conclude at 3: 25 pm.
Due to weather related road conditions within local neighborhoods in the Jacksonville area, our schools will remain closed tomorrow, Friday, January 19th.
We will continue to monitor weather and road conditions to ensure the safety of all of our scholars and team members. Please remind your scholars to check their Google classrooms and Virtual Arkansas platforms to make sure they are submitting all assigned work. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out. Stay safe, warm and don't forget to P.L.A.Y.!
